Tardy to the Party

March 14, 2011

I am not usually one to be late for the party, but for Reed Krakoff, the creative director of Coach’s new line, I was very tardy.

Reed Krakoff was launched in 2010 and has absolutely blew up, especially this week when the bag that Michelle Obama wore sold out in only a few days.

I personally love this Reed Krakoff bag (right) for the dainty size and the soft beige leather.  It has a dreamy, girlie feel to it.

What do you think?

To buy: Reed Krakoff; Cost $595

Rain, Rain Go Away!

March 6, 2011

The sky is grey, the streets are wet, and I have locked myself in my small NYC apartment today to avoid trekking outside in the rain.  I decided that today would be the perfect day for me to share some favorite NYC spots with you…

1. The Frying Pan – If you have ever wanted to visit  a sunken ship raised that was salvaged and converted into a floating restaurant/bar look no further…The Frying Pan is a great summer hang out and the perfect happy hour location.  I cannot wait until the weather is warmer, I can throw on a sun dress and shades, and grab a cold beer aboard this ship.

Pier 66, New York, NY –

2 .  Martha’s Bakery – There are only a few things in this world that can make me melt, one are puppies, two is a nice pair of heels and three are treats from Martha’s Bakery.  I personally am a huge fan of their Red Velvet Cupcake…yummy!!

3621 Ditmars Boulevard, Astoria, NY –

3. Fisch for the Hip – This is probably my FAVORITE consignment shop ever.  Known for their Hermes handbags, this consignment shop offers vintage Chanel, Balenciaga, Prada, you heard of it you guessed it.  The last time I visited this shop, I purchased an amazing Derek Lam clutch.

153 W. 18th Street, New York, NY –

4. Becco – Tucked downstairs on Restaurant Row, this restaurant is always crowed and the food is always yummy. Although a few things on the menu are pricy, they have a pasta deal that for $22 you get all you can eat pasta plus a ceasar salad.  They even have a $25 bottle of wine list that are great wines.

355 W 46th St., New York, NY –

Do any of you have any favorite places in New York City?

I’m Not IRISH, But KISS Me Anyway

March 4, 2011
Kiss Me I'm Irish

This Saturday, the Greek and the Italian (also known as my roommate and I) are venturing off to Hoboken, NJ to celebrate the annual Hoboken St. Patty’s Day, on a day that isn’t St. Patrick’s Day…seems almost fitting.

So as my roommate and I get ready for tomorrow’s festivities, I began to wonder what to wear to look chic yet laid back.  I decided on a loose fitting t-shirt, a pair of tight pants, booties and gold accessories…casual and girly…perfect-o!

What are you planning on wearing for St. Paddy’s Day?

1. Pour La Victoire Forsa Suede Platform Booties, $195

2. Kiss Me I’m Irish T-Shirt

3. Coach – Miranda Signature Teardrop Earrings, $78

4. TopShop – Premium Black Leather Skinny Trousers, $510

5. MICHAEL Michael Kors Woman’s Chronograph Bracelet Watch, $250

83rd Annual Academy Awards Winners: Best Dressed

February 28, 2011

There seemed to be a few trends on the red carpet of the Academy Awards last night;

Ladies in Red

Jennifer Hudson, Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Lawrence and Penelope Cruz (

Nude at the Oscars

Halle Berry and Hailee Steinfeld (

Lavender also seemed to make quite a showing at the red carpet as well (see below).

I may not be Joan Rivers, but I am going to provide my opinion for the dresses at the Oscars last night…

I absolutely LOVED Mila Kunis’ lavender Elie Saab dress, the lace detail, the sparkling earrings and the loose bun, AMAZING.  She knocked it out of the park and would be my choice of best dressed for the night.

Scarlett, Scarlett, Scarlett!  Although I hate to say this, because I think she is soooo beautiful in anything she wears, Miss. Johansson’s ensemble was not cutting it for me this awards show.  Her hair was cut too short in the back and was too messy and her dress was, for lack of a better term, blah.  Too much lingerie look, too little elegance.

Gwyneth Paltrow looked like an Oscar herself in this gorgeous Calvin Kline dress.  Although her performance may have been a bit off key, her dress was spot on.

Oh boy…where to begin with Cate Blanchett’s Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci dress.  Although I do love the color…what is going on with the beading?  It looks like my great-grandmother’s throw pillow, yuck.  Nice idea, poor execution.

And now to leave this post off on a high note…

I was sitting on my roommate’s boyfriend’s couch last night, watching the Oscars when all of a sudden the above walks onto the red carpet.  I think simultaneously, all of our jaws dropped, and all we could say was “WOW Jennifer Hudson looks great!”  Although I would have preferred a little less cleavage…she lost so much weight and this dress hugs all the right curves.  Way to go, Jennifer!

Cute As A Button

February 20, 2011

I have been following Erica Weiner for quite some time.  I was first introduced to her by this girl Danielle, who was wearing one of her necklaces. I fell in love, asked her where she got it, and the rest is history.  Since learning about her approximately, I have been seeing her everywhere; a friend wearing a necklace, a random woman at a bar, and last by not least, they were selling her jewelry at Michael Angelo’s Wonderland Beauty Parlor when I was working their 2010 Fashion Night Out event.  I figured it was about time I share this little gem with you.

Her jewelry is eclectic and brings beauty to simple items such as a coin, or a letter press, or in this case, a button.  I just have to say…I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BUTTON.  It is so dainty and such a great finishing touch to any ensemble; dressy or casual.

What do you think?  Would you wear this necklace?

To purchase: Erica Weiner Button Necklace (Gold Plate); Cost: $65

I Love The 80s

February 18, 2011

Sorry it has taken me so long to post another entry, but unfortunately life got in the way of my blogging.

We Love Colors Solid Color Tights in Neon Pink

With the exception of the past two days (gosh has the weather been B-E-A-UTIFUL in NYC), this winter has definitely thrown a few mighty cold days at us.  The cold, however, has not gotten in my way of wearing my shorts and skirts around town.  The only problem I have been having is finding tights that are not at all sheer to wear under my short shorts and skirts while keeping the thinness of tights.  BINGO.  We Love Colors has these great tights that come in 51 different colors.  With that many colors you can have the perfect tights to match each and every outfit you have in your closet.  These are perfect for under your short shorts or with their neon selection, perfect for that 80’s party your friends want you to go to.  Stop make excuses and pick up a pair.

To purchase: We Love Colors; Cost: $8
